Terms of service
Last updated 2026-10-20
1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between Symbose, CVR 27137962, Mølleparken 2, 6000 Kolding, Denmark ("we", "us") and you, whether you sign up an account for a business, an association or yourself, or use the platform as a user of an account. They apply to the Symbose website, the platform and its apps for Android and iOS (together "Symbose").
Whoever signs up an account accepts these terms on behalf of the business, association or person the account is for. By signing up or using Symbose, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use Symbose.
2. What Symbose is
Symbose is a platform that businesses, venues, associations and private persons (each an "account") use to plan events and shifts, hand out tasks, hold meetings, sell in the shop, count stock, take payments and keep the books, budget and payroll in order. The users of an account sign in, sign up for events, chat, share files and photos and receive news from the account.
Each account decides which features it uses, who its users are and what roles they have. The account you belong to may have rules of its own in addition to these terms.
3. Who can use Symbose
You must be at least 18 years old to use Symbose. You may only use Symbose if you are allowed to under the law that applies to you.
4. Your user account
- Give correct information about yourself and keep it up to date.
- Keep your sign-in methods to yourself, such as your PIN, your devices, your passkeys and the sign-in links we email you. Tell us or the account you belong to straight away if you think someone else has used your user account.
- You are responsible for what happens through your user account, unless it happened because of a fault on our side.
- A user account is personal. Do not let others use it, and do not sign in as someone else.
5. Face recognition
Signing in and being recognised by face is optional. It is only used with your explicit consent, and you can turn it off at any time. Never enrol or scan another person's face without their consent. How face data is handled is described in our privacy policy.
6. Plans, prices and payment
Every account is on a plan. The plans, what each costs and how often it is billed are shown on our pricing page at /pricing. The price of a plan is paid by the account. On a plan where the users also pay, each user of the account pays a membership of their own, and only users who have paid have access to the account. On a plan with a price per user, the account also pays that price for each of its users, never for more users than the plan holds.
Prices are in euro and include 25% Danish VAT. An account that pays in Danish kroner pays the price converted at a fixed rate of 7.50 kroner to the euro, rounded to whole kroner.
Payments are taken by our payment provider Mollie B.V. You pay the first time on Mollie's own page, where you also save the payment method used. Each later payment is then taken from that payment method on the day it falls due. Card details are entered with Mollie and never reach us.
If a payment fails, we tell you and ask you to pay again.
7. Renewal
A plan, and a membership, renews by itself for one billing period at a time until it is cancelled. Each period is paid in advance on the day it starts, which for a monthly plan is the first day of the month.
An account starts on its plan the day it is signed up, and pays nothing until the first billing day after that.
If we change the price of a plan, we tell the owner of every account on it by email before the new price takes effect. The owner can cancel before then.
8. Cancellation
The owner of an account can cancel its plan at any time, in the platform or by writing to support@symbose.com.
Cancel before the next billing period starts, for a monthly plan before the first day of the next month, and the plan ends when the running period ends. No further payment is taken, and the account and its users have no access to it from the next period. Nothing is paid for a period after the one in which you cancel.
Until the plan ends, the owner can take the cancellation back, and everything carries on as before.
A user's membership ends when the user leaves the account, or when the account's plan ends or stops asking its users to pay.
The account's data is not deleted when its plan ends. To have it deleted, write to us.
9. Refunds
A payment for a period that has started is not refunded when you cancel, and there is no refund for part of a period. This does not limit your right of withdrawal in section 10, or any other right you have under mandatory law.
10. Right of withdrawal for consumers
If you are a consumer, you have the right to withdraw from the agreement within 14 days without giving any reason. The 14 days run from the day the agreement is made, which is the day you sign up an account or start a membership. Businesses and associations have no right of withdrawal. When you sign up, you say whether you sign up as a private person or on behalf of a business or association.
The platform is a service that starts as soon as you sign up. When you sign up, you tick a box to ask us to start the service straight away, within the 14 days, and to confirm that you pay for the time used if you withdraw. If you then withdraw, you pay for the access you had up to the day you told us, in proportion to the full period. We refund the rest of what you have paid within 14 days of hearing from you, to the payment method you paid with.
To withdraw, press Withdraw in the account's dialog, or send us a clear statement, for example by email to support@symbose.com, before the 14 days have passed. You may use the form below, but you do not have to. The account closes the day you withdraw.
- To Symbose, CVR 27137962, Mølleparken 2, 6000 Kolding, Denmark, support@symbose.com
- I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract for the following service.
- Ordered on and the account it is for.
- Name and email address of the consumer.
- Date.
11. What you buy from an account
Prices for products, events, subscriptions, donations and other things an account sells through Symbose are set by that account and shown before you pay. What you buy, you buy from that account, and the account's own terms apply to it, refunds included.
A shop tab or subscription you agree to is charged as it says when you agree to it.
12. Acceptable use
When you use Symbose, you must not
- break the law, or help anyone else do so,
- harass, threaten or discriminate against others, or share content that is hateful, violent, sexual or otherwise offensive,
- share other people's personal data, photos or files without the right to do so,
- pretend to be someone else, or give a false impression of who you are,
- upload malware, try to get into accounts or data that are not yours, or disrupt or overload Symbose,
- copy, scrape, resell or reverse engineer Symbose, except where the law allows it.
13. Your content
You keep the rights to the messages, files and photos you add to Symbose. You give us permission to store, process and show them to the people you share them with, and to the users of the account whose role allows it, for as long as needed to provide Symbose.
You are responsible for having the rights to what you share. We may remove content that breaks these terms or the law.
14. Availability and changes to Symbose
We work to keep Symbose available and secure, but we cannot promise that it will always be available or free of errors. We may change, add or remove features, and we may need to pause Symbose for maintenance.
The app needs to be up to date to work properly. Updates come through Google Play or, for the version downloaded from our website, through the app itself.
15. Suspension and ending
You can stop using Symbose at any time and ask us or the account you belong to to delete your user account.
An account can remove you from its users. We may suspend or close a user account or an account that breaks these terms, puts others at risk or is required to be closed by law. Where we can, we tell you first and give you the chance to put things right.
16. Liability
Symbose is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, such as lost profit or lost data, or for what an account or other users do.
Towards a business or an association, our total liability for any claim is limited to what the account paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under mandatory law, or our liability for losses caused intentionally or through gross negligence.
17. Privacy
How we handle personal data is described in our privacy policy at /legal/privacy-policy.
18. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we update the date at the top, and if the changes are significant, we tell you in the platform or by email before they take effect. If you keep using Symbose after that, the new terms apply.
19. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by Danish law. Disputes are settled by the Danish courts, unless mandatory consumer law gives you the right to bring a case where you live.
If you are a consumer and we cannot agree, you can complain to the Danish Consumer Complaints Board through Nævnenes Hus (naevneneshus.dk).
